History of Zonta Club of Taipei I I

Club of Taipei II was founded on April 26, 1971 and installed on Mach 31, 1972.

Under the guidance of Hsin-I Laura Fei from Club of Taipei I, the Club of Taipei II was formed by a group of women with distinguished achievements in various fields including educators, physicians, attorneys, writers, and entrepreneurs.

The main goals of our club are providing help and service to underprivileged groups and assisting women in achieving higher social status.
Under the leadership of 24 presidents in the past 43 years, the Club of Taipei II has been successfully held numerous activities to raise funds for various social programs assisting women, children and the elderly. 

In addition to local communities, we have also extended assistance to the needy people overseas. We had donated funds to build two shelter homes for those who had lost homes after a huge earthquake in El Salvador. We had also donated to help tsunami victims in Japan and floods victims in the Philippines.

In 1997, our club helped form the Club of Taoyuan to expand Zonta membership in Taiwan.

To promote friendship and cooperation, we established sister club relationship with three Zonta clubs - Dallas I in 1979, Osaka I in 1989 , and Seoul V in 2000.

Christina Sun, our president of 2012-14, has raised the bar in terms of fundraising during her presidency to finance various service projects including the expansion of the Bali senior people's home, after-school care of children in remote areas, an education project for special children, and financial aid to students from disadvantaged homes and children who have lost parents. 

Christina has also recruited the greatest number of new members during her term , a total of 8.

In 2014-16, our club member Hsin-hsin Yang will be serving as the governor of the District 31. We will extend her our full support to build a stronger district. Hsin-hsin has been active in local women's groups advocating the safety and rights of girls and women.

Wen-lin Wu, an attorney, will serve as our 2014-16 club president.

Zonta International Taipei Second District report on 100th anniversary celebrations:
